A group of Ethiopian-American and Ethiopian-Canadian engineers has launched a new startup accelerator aimed at early-stage founders building for the Ethiopian market, with the first cohort based in Addis Ababa.
The twelve-week program offers mentorship, a small equity-free grant, and introductions to diaspora angel investors. Organizers say the goal is to keep more of the value created by Ethiopian founders inside the country rather than requiring relocation abroad.
Applications close at the end of the month, with the first cohort expected to begin in the next quarter.
